GLOB strives to raise awareness about the regulation of non-toxic art products. Most consumers rely on "non-toxic" certification, unaware that in the US, synthetic pigments that have never been tested for toxicity can still be labeled "non-toxic". Manufacturers are not required to list ingredients and "non-toxic" paints often contain numerous chemical additives, like the carcinogen formaldehyde, one of the most common paint preservatives.
